An excellent example of MCNS Research, on behalf of Jio India for 5G-Advanced networks.
SRS-based (Sounding Reference Signal) beamforming in 5G massive MIMO (mMIMO) offers several advantages over traditional codebook-based beamforming, making it a competitive choice for high-performance networks. It utilizes channel state information (CSI) directly obtained from user equipment (UE), allowing for dynamic and accurate adaptation to varying channel conditions.
The granular channel feedback enabled by SRS facilitates enhanced spatial resolution and finer beam adjustments, which are crucial in mMIMO systems where numerous antennas are employed to achieve high spectral efficiency.
Moreover SRS-based beamforming also supports more flexible and scalable implementations, as it can adapt to various user mobility patterns and network configurations, making it suitable for diverse 5G use case
